{"id":11183,"date":"2012-11-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-11-26T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.p707480.webspaceconfig.de\/unkategorisiert\/press-release-07-12\/"},"modified":"2024-07-25T12:33:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T10:33:01","slug":"press-release-07-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wordpress.p707480.webspaceconfig.de\/en\/press\/press-release-07-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Press release 07\/12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Local authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate have recently started offering selected online citizen services almost everywhere, which can be processed completely digitally with the new ID card.<br \/>\nOver 70 percent of administrations have now opened access for electronic application processing.<br \/>\nThis makes Rhineland-Palatinate the first federal state to offer these services on such a broad basis.<br \/>\nREINER SCT has provided a total of 30,000 comfort readers for the launch of the project as part of a grant from the Federal Ministry of the Interior.<br \/>\n&#8220;We are very pleased to be able to support the online citizen portal of Rhineland-Palatinate and thus contribute to ensuring that more and more citizens can use electronic administrative services,&#8221; says Andreas Staiger, Managing Director of REINER SCT.<br \/>\nAs a first step, applications for certificates of good conduct, birth or death certificates or registration and residence certificates can now be made online in Rhineland-Palatinate, for example, as well as pre-registrations for marriages.<br \/>\nSince the introduction of the new ID card in Germany in 2010, almost 800,000 new ID cards have been issued in Rhineland-Palatinate.<br \/>\nThis means that 20 percent of Rhineland-Palatinate citizens are already able to conveniently process administrative services electronically from home or on the move, regardless of opening hours.<br \/>\nHowever, the prerequisite for this is that the <span class=\"noDecoration\">eID function<\/span> of the new ID card, which is activated &#8220;ex works&#8221;, remains activated and was not deactivated when the ID card was issued at the registration office at the suggestion of the authority employee or at the request of the holder.          <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Comfort reader brings security<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>  In order to save themselves the trip to the town hall in future and to be able to submit applications online, citizens will need the new ID card with activated <span class=\"noDecoration\">eID function<\/span>, the ID card software available free of charge on the Internet and a chip card reader.<br \/>\n&#8220;We recommend the use of a comfort reader, which provides the highest level of security for digital administrative processes,&#8221; says Staiger. <strong>About REINER SCT<\/strong> REINER SCT has been developing, manufacturing and distributing readers for smart cards since 1997.<br \/>\nThe company specializes in high-quality <span class=\"noDecoration\">home banking security solutions<\/span> for banks and their customers as well as intuitive time recording and access control systems for small and medium-sized companies.<br \/>\nREINER SCT develops and produces in Germany and offers all services from a single source, including sales and end customer service.<br \/>\nWith the new chip card readers for the electronic ID card, REINER SCT is a pioneer for the innovative use of IT in the public sector.
